At the dawn of 2025, what would be your assessment of the year 2024 ?
2024 has been an emotional year with its share of ups and downs, like many people. But above all, it revealed in me an unsuspected strength which will help me to calmly embrace 2025. On the work side, I had the chance to work with my 2 daughters who joined the family business a few months ago. A fresh wind of youth, enthusiasm and dynamism has blown into my daily life and this helps me to flourish in my work.
Do you have anything new for 2025 that you would like to reveal to us ?
We are going to move our workshops and I can't wait to work in this new space that I designed in collaboration with our architects. I can tell you that all the conditions will be met for our jewelry to be perfectly executed.
Do you have an anecdote to tell us that will remind you of the year 2024 ?
It’s not really an anecdote but the year was punctuated by the 170th anniversary of Maison Frojo. Frojo having a common story with Charlet, which I invite you to read (click here). So it was a year full of interviews, events, filming, collaborations, sleepless nights... But it brought a lot of warmth and a nostalgia that felt good.
The price of gold had already increased in 2024 but seems to continue its rise in 2025. How are you going to manage this ?
Unfortunately, we cannot manufacture at a loss. We had already increased our prices in May 2024 and if this continues, we will have to increase them again. We have chosen to work with 18-carat gold and more, in our French workshop in Marseille. There is no way I will start manufacturing overseas just to keep prices low. We do not want to ignore what makes up our identity.
In 2025, what do you want for Maison Charlet ?
We are growing little by little and our foundations are solid. I now want to have a little more fun with creations and communication campaigns. I hope our customers will be there !
To finish this interview, what would be your good resolutions for 2025 ?
Think more about my well-being, travel, return to sport to relieve my capricious back and manage to disconnect from my phone from time to time!
